Administratively, HERCULES is organised by the Univ. Grenoble Alpes. However, we do not deliver an official University diploma, which would require a student registration with the University.
Nevertheless, HERCULES is a ~5 week school, with ~145 hours of 'contact' hours including: lectures (~55%), practicals, labs, and tutorials (~40%), visits and group work. We estimate that following and preparing the course requires more than 100 hours of personal work, i.e. the total number of study hours is around 250h. Since one ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) corresponds to 25 to 30 hours of work, including personal work, this means that the full HERCULES school can be recognised as 6 to 8 ECTS by the University where the PhD participant is registered.
A certificate indicating the number of training hours is delivered at the end of the course so that these credits can be obtained.
