Are you a young researcher or PhD student working with synchrotron or neutron science? Join the European HERCULES School in Grenoble, France, from February 22^nd to March 29^th, 2026, for an intensive, interdisciplinary training course.

The 2025 edition of the HERCULES European School has officially come to an end — and what a fantastic journey it has been!

HERCULES 2025 has officially begun, and we are thrilled to see the enthusiasm and smiles on the faces of our participants!

The selection committee has finalized the list of admitted participants, and all applicants should have received their results.

The last 5 weeks have been rich in terms of training but also interactions and emotions.

The Hercules 2024 school has well started on February 26.

The number of applications widely exceeded the number of available positions, so that the selection committee was not able to retain all the very good applications for a full-time on site participation.

After 5 weeks of intense training as well as many enjoyable opportunities to get together, HERCULES 2023 is now over.

We hope all the participants have gone safely back home and we wish them all the best for their future research.

We are at the middle of the school, and it is already a success!

The first 3 weeks of the school were rich and studious. In addition to the lectures, the visits and the practicals at ESRF and ILL, the poster session and the trainings took place. Intensely good!

We have received 155 applications in session A and 40 in session B.

Among those, 56 and 24 will be selected to follow the Hercules 2023 school as an on site full-time participation in the A and B session, respectively.

Unfortunately, due to the sanitary COVID 19 context, it won't be possible for the staff to welcome HERCULES students this year at KIT and PSI. The school will thus be online on these two sites, while it will be (hopefully) on site at DESY / European XFEL and SOLEIL for week 4.

Due to the sanitary conditions with COVID-19 in France, we have decided to organise the HERCULES 2022 weeks 1, 2, 3, and 5 as an on-line version. We all would have strongly preferred to have it on site but there are too many risks to organise it as such.
